It was a sad day for me today as it was my grandma's funeral. I had decided not to let Jimmy (8) come with us as he is in the middle of some important assessments at school. We were just about ready to go this morning as I was dropping him off at school on the way and I put a long black coat on. Jimmy said 'is that your funeral coat then?'. I explained that people tend to wear black at funerals and this was my smart coat. He said 'well you look like that vampire Dracula to me, I'll get you some teeth' and proceeded to get me a huge pair of fangs out of his toy box!Blink . I didn't know what to say???? so I had to laugh.

The mass was beautiful and all the family were together as grandma wanted so it went very well really.

Julie

Dear Julie
So sorry you have lost your Grandma.
The vampire thing really made me smile, children just have a way of making you smile, even at sad times don't they.

Hi Julie

Sorry to hear about your grandma, but glad that the service went well, and that your son brought a smile to your face :-)

Hi Julie

Sorry to hear your sad news; I miss my Grandma to this day and she died 30 years ago, bless her. How lovely is little Jimmy?! What a star to cheer up his mum. Thinking of you, hope you are okay,

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

oh Julie bless him!

So very sorry to read about Grandma passing away. I only have the one gran left now. At my late Nan's funeral I was really recognised the long line of strong women in the family.

Actually both sides of my family are like this.

Much love to you, what a blessing it has been to know our grandmas

So sorry to hear of your Gran's death. I am so pleased that the mass was as you would want it to be.
Jimmy will go far. He knows how to bring the right touch of humour and pathos to a situation.

Thinking of you,

Eleanor x
